The StreetScooter GmbH belongs to the Deutsche Post DHL Group since November 2014. StreetScooter is an innovative start-up of electric vehicles, for DHL it represents an expansion of their delivery network. The delivery vehicles, e-bikes and e-trikes manufactured by StreetScooter are customized to meet DHL’s needs. Walbert-Schmitz had to create a new concept for StreetScooter’s booth at the Post-Expo 2015. The concept had to emphasize their fresh character, originality and connection to DHL. Walbert-Schmitz worked in close cooperation with the customer to create a futuristic city with the main theme “urbanity”. The polygonal architecture helps underline the modernity of the company. The street guides on the floor represent short routes and connections. The 49 “packages” attached to the ceiling served as an eye-catcher and to represent the daily needs of the retail customer.
The color combination of anthracite and yellow creates tension, giving the booth a lively and refreshing mood.
StreetScooter is a spin-off of the RWTH Aachen University and started as a consortium of around 80 industrial companies in the automotive and related industries. It was founded in 2010 and has 70 employees. Since 2013 around 200 StreetScooter vehicles have been produced in Aachen in the former Talbot / Bombardier plant.
